time to reupload a bunch of poems i've already uploaded a whole bunch of times before! well, i do need a base for this poetry book thing.

(i just had a crisis about how to spell the word reupload. send help.)

actually I've changed my mind and i won't upload all my old ones at once, but here's the first contest poem so you don't have to read it if you already have

There was a new glint behind my eyes

you had no clue

that it signalled the start of a wildfire

'cause it was easier to pretend you didn't see the smoke.

Jealousy accumulated like gunpowder,

Envy like fuel,

but it was a kiss that lit my heart on fire

and rigged it to explode.

You glanced across the room at me

as you danced with someone

who should have been mine -

who will be mine now that you're gone.

for the blood I supposedly spilled?

Is it truly, completely my fault,

that you died in the fire

that you set inside me

when you took their hand?
