(Introduction)
SCENE 1
Marshal Jetstream is sitting in her office, enjoying a cup of coffee.
JETSTREAM (Voiceover Narration): "When I signed up for the job of Marshal, I expected to be on the front lines, but today I would find a challenge that would affect not just me, but a nice young girl."

(Story)
SCENE 2
Jetstream sits outside her office, with Dan by her side.
They are soon approached by an attractive, yet cautious young lady.
LARAMIE: "Excuse me, ma'am, are you the Marshal?"
JETSTREAM: "Why, yes, I am. What's wrong?"
LARAMIE: "Ma' name is Laramie Douglas. I came ta' warn you of somethin'. Ya' see, my brother is aimin' to be a notorious gunfighter. I've watched him restlessly practice his quick drawing, day and night. He heard all about the Millennium City Marshal's fast gun-handlin'. He's on his way here now to challenge ya'."
JETSTREAM: "So your brother has a hankerin' for a showdown, huh? Well, don't worry, Laramie, I'll do everything in my power to avoid it."
LARAMIE: "I don't think you CAN avoid it. I know he's ma' brother, but I tried so hard to change his mind. He's so stubborn, he won't give up the idea of having a reputation. I love him dear, but he really won't listen to me."
JETSTREAM: "I see. Well, I can promise you we won't be havin' a gunfight."
LARAMIE: "Thank you, Marshal."
As Laramie leaves, Jetstream wonders if she can avoid this gunfight.
JETSTREAM: "Dan, do you think I can handle this without gunplay?"
DAN McKAY: "I'm sure it won't be easy, but I have confidence in you, Jetstream. Besides, do you remember when you persuaded that boy Clint to give up his idea of being a fast gunslinger?"
JETSTREAM: "Yes."
DAN McKAY: "This situation doesn't seem that different from it."
JETSTREAM: "You're right, Dan. I better be careful."

SCENE 3
Moments later, a boy rides into town on a horse, looking for the Marshal.
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "MARSHAL!!! I'M CALLING YOU!!!!"
Jetstream appears outside her office.
JETSTREAM: "You must be Laramie's brother, right?"
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "That doesn't matter. I come for one reason, Marshal, and one reason only. You see, I'm gonna be a big man. Once I eliminate you."
JETSTREAM: "Look, we don't have to fight. I'm far from being the fastest gun, you know."
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "You're fast enough to earn me a reputation."
JETSTREAM: "Even if you beat me in a gunfight, someone else will come along and gun YOU down. I'm not going to engage you because I don't want you to be killed. No matter how fast you are, there will always be someone who's faster than you. Please keep that in mind."
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "You'll face me, Marshal. You WILL face me."
The boy rides out for now.

SCENE 4
(The next morning)
DAN McKAY: "What do you think that boy's gonna do?"
JETSTREAM: "He's the persistent kind. Those who aim to snag a reputation will do anything to provoke a gunfight to prove their speed. But I can't let him get to me. I won't hurt Laramie by facing her brother. I've got to try not to."
(Gunshot)
(Gunshot)
(Gunshot)
Jetstream and Dan McKay run outside.
They see the bodies of the mortally wounded, laying on the ground.
Jetstream and Dan look in extreme horror.
Laramie runs out into the street.
LARAMIE: "BIG BROTHER!!!! STOP IT!!!! NOW!!!!"
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "Get outta my way, Laramie.... You wanna face me now, Marshal?"
LARAMIE: "NO!!!! I WON'T MOVE. I'VE BEEN TRYIN' TO SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!! DON'T YOU GET IT!!!?"
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "Alright, Laramie, you wanna stand in ma' way, then I'll just have to oblige you, then."
(Gunshot)
He then shoots Laramie, wounding her arm.
JETSTREAM: "THAT'S IT!!!!"
JETSTREAM: "You've entered a line that shouldn't have been crossed. I'm gonna kill you. MY WAY."
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "Whatever you say, Marshal. Any game you want, I CAN PLAY."
JETSTREAM: "We will do it the old fashioned way."
JETSTREAM: "Somebody bring us two guns. The finest."
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "What are you plannin', Marshal?"
JETSTREAM: "Since you're the one who came here shooting, you have the first choice of a gun."
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "What are you....fine. I choose....THIS ONE."
JETSTREAM: "Very well, I'll use this one."
(Laramie's brother checks his gun).
JETSTREAM: "Don't worry, they're loaded."
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "Okay, we have our guns, now what?"
JETSTREAM: "We shoot at ten paces. We start with our backs to each other. We take ten steps away from each other. Once we're at ten, we turn around and shoot. The only drawback is.... ONE OF US DIES."
Dan pulls Laramie out of the line of fire.
JETSTREAM: "Whenever you're ready, boy."

Laramie's brother turned around before the tenth second and tried to ambush Jetstream.
Jetstream without looking, shot from over her shoulder, fatally wounding him.
Jetstream and Laramie run over to the boy's body.
LARAMIE'S BROTHER: "I....shoulda' known....I wasn't fast....enough....to....win....
Laramie's brother dies with his sister looking on.
LARAMIE: "I wasn't a fan of his lifestyle or his ambitions....but I loved him, regardless. He woulda' killed me hadn't you challenged him. His own little sister."
JETSTREAM: "I'm sorry, Laramie."
LARAMIE: "No, Marshal. It wasn't your fault.... I think I'll return home now."
JETSTREAM: "No, Laramie. What about your arm? It's wounded."
LARAMIE: "Oh. It's okay, Marshal. I'll tend to it."
JETSTREAM (Voiceover Narration): "I was faced with an impossible choice. I had to kill a nice girl's brother. I should've known this is what it's all about, making tough decisions. I think maybe one day, I'll quit my job as Marshal."
