Kids would stop and stare at her sometimes; watching her tend to the plants in front of her house. She would look over at the kids, smile and wave. They would turn and run away.
The witch wasn't bothered. She just stood up, brushed the dirt off her red silk dress, picked up her basket and walked back into her house.
She was a quiet girl. She never talked, except when saying thank you to the cashier after buying her goods.
She would smile and wave to passersby.
No one bothered her; so she didn't bother anyone either.
She was know for her kind gestures but some still didn't trust her; even when she baked cookie for the village on Christmas. They were good cookies. Everyone ate them; they trusted her enough that they knew they weren't spiked.
And they were right; the witch had no intention of harming anyone.
The village is quite and peaceful place; anyone showing any intent of harming the people, well, they don't stay around long.
People talk. They wonder if it is because of the witch. Did she scare them off? Did she curse them? Hex them?
No one knows but the witch herself.
Children would sometimes come to the little house on the hill with gifts and treats.
The witch would welcome the things the children bring. She loves the food, it's always the best. And she keeps all the gifts. The kids would make her a lot of flower crowns. She wore a different one everyday.
Her name was Crimson. Very few know that.
She seemed normal at first; ignoring the fact that she practices witchcraft in her free time.
That was until the incident with the cave down by the beach.
Five kids were seen playing down around the cave; they never returned.
No one knows what happened.
The same night, Crimson started going down to that cave every night, never coming back until morning.
The Kids never came back.
