Along the creek shore,

sits a pinecone,

cradled close to towering trunks.

These green pines,

against a blue sky,

shift warm sunlight,

on the frozen ground.

The center creek current,

strolls sweetly,

as though a passerby.

At the season’s end,

atop the ferns and hedges,

squirrels run and glide.
