When we left that room, we went deeper into the facility. We took the elevator to the 3rd floor. We were introduced to another long and dark hallway. The lights were blinking, and dim for some reason.
“I guess they forgot to fix the lights,” I said as my voice echoed down the hallway.
“That’s what I was thinking. They just leave the lights flickering or something? I mean why wouldn’t they fix it,” James whispered.
We passed by rooms with their doors labeled the word “Experimentations”. It would have been helpful to find one that had “Joseph Williams” on it.
We hurried down the hall until we arrived at the rooms labeled “Dissections”. Unsure of what to make of it, I glanced at James.
“Man this is getting weird,” he said.
“I agree.”
All of a sudden that gut-wrenching feeling got worse. It came out of nowhere. I stopped and put my hand on the wall, leaning against it.
James was just a few feet ahead, he realized that I wasn’t following behind him.
“Are you ok?” he asked.
I was out of breath.
“I don't know. It just feels really weird, I sense pain.”
“How?” he said.
“I don’t know...”
“Uuhhh, maybe it has something to do with that thing glowing in the back of your neck...”
We heard voices down the hallway coming our way. James and I quickly escaped into rooms closest to us. Once again, both doors were unlocked.
I shut the door as quietly as possible and put my back against it. The dim hallway light was the only light that peaked through the window of the room. I pulled the strings of my hoodie to make sure it was tight over my head. I heard the people pass by talking about something, but I couldn’t make out what. After a while my instinct was to look around and see if I could find something else.
While I was still having that overwhelming feeling on the inside of my stomach, I noticed something just a few feet away from me.
I could tell that there was a person with their eyes closed lying on a hospital bed. I cautiously walked over and could see that it was one of those blue creatures.
It was a female and she was dressed in a hospital gown. She looked young, about my age. She opened her blue eyes and began staring directly at me.
“Help...,” she said gently with a scratchy voice.
“Ahh!” I said and fell to the ground.
“Please, help me...”
