Back in 8th grade…

‎Life was a little boring, a little fun — but Zara was always there.

‎Zara wasn’t just a friend.

‎She was like a piece of Aliya’s heart — loud, funny, full of life.

‎She understood Aliya even when she didn’t speak.

‎

‎But one day…

‎Zara left.

‎

‎Her father got transferred and she had to move to another city.

‎Aliya smiled and said goodbye…

‎But in her diary, she wrote:

‎“You weren’t just my friend, Zara…

‎You were my world.

‎And today, my world feels empty.”

‎

‎Then 9th grade started.

‎New books, new teachers, new faces…

‎But nothing felt the same without Zara.

‎

‎And slowly, something inside Aliya started to change.

‎

‎🌙 That’s when her imagination began.

‎Aliya was present in class, but only physically.

‎Her heart, her thoughts — they were always somewhere else.

‎Whenever Miss was teaching, Aliya’s mind would float away…

‎To her own little world.

‎In her imagination, Zayan would talk to her.

‎He would wait for her after class.

‎He would smile only for her.

‎He would read her diary…

‎It all felt real — but only inside her head.

‎Zayan, with his black hoodie and messy hair, was always smiling with his friends.

‎Aliya would notice every little detail.

‎But no one noticed her.

‎

‎And she accepted that.

‎

‎“The real world doesn’t understand me…

‎But my imagination never hurts me.”

‎

‎During lunch, everyone would laugh, joke around —

‎Farhan and Farah would argue like cartoon characters, making the whole class laugh.

‎

‎But Aliya?

‎She’d sit quietly at her desk, writing something in her diary.

‎Lost in a world where she felt safe… where she felt loved.

‎

‎In that world, Zayan looked at her, talked to her… maybe even loved her.

‎

‎And Zara?

‎She was still there — always laughing, always beside her.

‎

‎One day, Miss asked,

‎“Aliya, you’ve been very quiet lately. Are you okay?”

‎Aliya just smiled and nodded.

‎

‎But inside?

‎Her heart whispered the truth:

‎

‎“I don’t live here anymore.

‎I live in a place no one else can see.

‎A world where no one leaves…

‎A world where Zayan is mine.”

‎

‎That night, she wrote in her diary:

‎“The real world gives me pain.

‎My imagination gives me love.

‎And now… I only want to stay where I feel safe.”
