There were no railings and mages who fell would have to think fast to cast a spell to save them . Saver was already ready with some auto-save functions while checking Dennis's ideas .
' If I load back force towards my body , I should be able to walk around ' Saver got ready to Load any force whenever Dennis desires to go up the stairs .
Willow leads Dennis to a massive glass ball " This will numerize how much mana you actually have , as well as how concrete your source is . But you did say you have been casting different spells , so your source might be difficult to understand "
Dennis chews some jerky and touches the ball " Oh wow , that is a lot " the ball cracks from all the mana stored inside Dennis and she figures out the probem .
" Maybe it also checks for my saved spell slots " " Spell slots ? " " In D&D , spell slots are basically how many times a character can cast that spell . Fortunately for me , I can store a lot because I have yet to hit the ceiling on my Savings " Dennis whispered .
" Oh , that could also explain why you broke the ball " ' Looks like we should avoid gathering magic sources , but at the very least , we know there are some things that can observe what is inside Savings other than Mom's gift '
" So how are you going to explain this to the tower masters ? " Willow asked " I won't " " Are you really planning to get yourself in a dangerous position as a disciple of the sages ? " Willow asked .
" Fake it till you make it " Dennis said " Can you even keep up ? " " I gotta be confident in my abilities . Moreover , while I theoretically have a massive mana pool , it doesn't mean I have fast learning skills "
" No , you do learn fast " Willow refuted and Dennis replies " They don't know that " Dennis and Willow were teleported into a room where several sages appeared , each from their corresponding branch of magic .
" A human ? " a goblin sage asked while the others wondered about the massive pool " So you are the one that broke our magic grader ? " " Yes , if it were any other ordinary grader , it would've been more disastrous , no Sages ? " Willow asked .
" What are you here for ? " " We were supposed to get her magic graded but " Willow got dragged back and Dennis took it from there " I broke it , I'll try to fix it if I can , but in the meantime , can I get the magical knowledge to fix it ? " Dennis said .
" We have more pressing matters , mainly your mana pool " " I know , I read a lot about the towers coming here . There is political tension and I want no part in any of it , but I do want to gain access to your knowledge because that's what I'm here for in the first place "
Before they could show offers , Dennis quickly said each sage's offer out loud in quick succession , not giving any of the sages a chance to talk " I don't care about your offers , it's going to cut into my time . I just want access to it , but I can offer something "
Willow listens to Dennis giving the Sages the same offer , but with some changes , as Willow had been offered " But I will have to learn magic before I can load it into your students who are that lazy , so grant me access and I will pay that back with interest although I will like to start with magic that I want first "
The sages quickly accepted the offer and even called a gift holder " Then let us make that offer official " Holder's gift Mediator manifested a contract between each sage and Dennis .
Dennis looks at the contracts and really spots a lot of political tension applied to the contracts ' So they each want to be the first one to benefit these ' Dennis already has a plan , but after checking how much time it will take to accomplish them , she was gonna have to Load some of her time to satisfy all these contracts at once .
' Still possible ' she signed all of these contracts but with some changes of her own and Willow already figured out her decision " Are you sure about that ? " she whispered " Willow , you saw how fast I am and if you want to help , you can loan me a year of your time if you want to help "
Willow started weighing her options and said " Why don't you just ask for some time from your mom instead ? " " Don't want to she will pull in all the favors I've asked of her to make me go in the dating game " Dennis said as she borrows some books from each towers .
" Can you even finish them ? " " Yes " Saver starts Saving copies of the books for later use " Teleportation , sounds like something you would want " Willow returned the book while Dennis sent it back inside Savings .
" Oh , there is even more magic that is related to speed , won't they be mad that you are just getting basic enhancements ? " " Don't worry , I gave them locations to send the books over , which I plan to return and they all gave me this fancy library card each "
Dennis flexed the cards , each with much detail and looked pricey . There was a black card with a gold shine , a red card that had magic circles shining brightly , a white card with a diamonds refracting light and so on .
" They look like credit cards , It reminds me of that modern reverse harem where the female MC was given several credit cards from several rich boys " " It's not that " Dennis quickly said to disassociate herself from that troupe .
" I know , but trying to bite off more than you can chew isn't exactly ideal " " Then you go try the five-minute steak challenge " Willow looked at Dennis , understanding her intentions .
" Okay , so you might be able to chew all of these then " " Naturally " Dennis said " So I will be in high-speed working mode for a while " ' But I'll need to spend some time outside , mostly because I gotta keep up with appearances '
Dennis uses her mother's gift and sees some surveillance around her by the respective towers ' I did not expect them to work that quickly , but with this , I've gotten more protection now '
She worries about her mother , but since her mother has managed to survive without using her skill and hardly has anyone after her because she labeled her skill as a defect , she should be more worried about her mother being kidnapped because of her own gift's value .
' Although it won't go that high just yet . Since all it does is keep something ready for later and right now the government or that spy in there only knows the time part , but there are other time that I can also save '
She first finishes a book about teleportation and starts abusing it ' This is very different from Saver's Load ' Dennis checks on Saver , who pointed at the map ' This teleportation spell is just something I use at face value and it might be much harder for us to use our Savings now that the tower master are watching until it somehow gets handled '
Dennis thought of it during classes and when it ended , she teleported home with some mail ' It's not from the tower masters ' " Wow , your world is really going fast "
Dennis opens the mail to see an offer from a gift holder association " Oh this one " she finds a loan option to open up a business ' Business huh ? Maybe I can use this to buy time '
" Are you actually planning to use it ? " " No , the loan is a bit difficult and I don't think I have time to even make a business . Like anyone would want to sell me time "
" You're right , so you gonna toss it out ? " Dennis thinks about it " No , I'll keep it for reference later " " Reference for what ? " " Just want to keep my options around " Dennis takes the business card inside and stacks it along with her library cards " Now I'm going to study these books " ' And teleport to get the other books later '
Dennis predicts the tower masters surveying her , likely planning to switch sights when she teleports away ' I'll have to load some images of myself when I disappear . God , can these tower masters stop acting like stalkers ' she complained , but since she bought it upon herself . She went to the restroom and Loaded her Mother's gift and found that they at least respect her privacy .
She Loaded her mother's gift again on the locations she gave away Loading images of herself picking up the object , before Saving the books into Savings ' I'll leave copying to you Saver ' until dinner came , she was only reading books that she personally borrowed without arousing the suspicions of the tower masters .
Eventually , after eating and having a bath , she goes to sleep ' Alright Saver , let's start studying ' Dennis Loads her dream time and remains inside savings , where another set of clocks tick , but this time , that clock was more different than the five clocks ' A year of dreaming will be used on this from now on '
The next morning , Dennis needed time to adjust from waking up from a really long dream " I'm so groggy " she pushes the books of dream magic that she pretends to learn ' I swear I really need more time , do I have to consider selling time ? ' Dennis takes the business card .
' Maybe I can , there are a lot of copies of my knowledge that Saver made as backup in case I forget ' she really worries about what she is about to write and thinks about her Save ability ' Actually , it doesn't age you at all , I am proof of it . So maybe it is possible '
Dennis acquires her report card of very high grades from her effectively learning through Loading her time properly and thinking about who would like grades like these , she recalls her mother's vast social network .
' I don't need a loan for this , just some connections and willing customers ' she sends the proposal to her mother and before she even finished five minutes steak challenge , she already got customers .
Dennis teleports to school , taking Willow with her and starts receiving some offers about what subjects the students want to learn about " You are actually doing it ? " " Yep , I already looked into the laws , I'm really not getting anything out of them other than time , but it's basically just moving them forward while the time they skip is given to me "
Willow thought of the human lifespan and asked " What about your age ? " " It's actually pretty easy to fix that " Dennis said and placed her hand asking for payment " Do you even need my knowledge ? " " History is fine too , Learning to me has become a hobby and it might be useful for anyone too lazy to learn "
Willow sighed and manifested a massive book for Dennis to save ' I should probably make a website for anyone who wants to use my Load , but then again , I don't want my captors to know ' Dennis figured that the customers could just ask if she knew about a specific set of knowledge .
But then there could be some who are suspicious about what they gained . But since they don't pay with money but with time , which doesn't age them but just pushes them forward in the future . She figured she didn't have to think that much , but the problem was whether Saver could reach that far to an unknown location through technology .
Dennis takes a look at her phone and Loads her Mother's gift and sees into her mother's cleaning agency camera ' Can this work ? ' after Saving an item and Loading it back , while also Loading some dirt and Saving it back , Dennis confirms it .
' Looks like the clocks are going to turn more ' Dennis wonders if this could mean Saver's growth because there is more opportunity to Save and Load ' It has grown for sure '
She remembers Saver having fewer features related to what was stored in the Savings , but then continued to grow the more she learned ' I wonder when I can figure out how to split my sources . ' she placed that as a goal for herself while she leaves Saver to handle the business of Loading knowledge for saving time .
' Now I should start worrying about who targeted me . ' when class ends , Dennis starts figuring out how to handle the crisis against that spy after teleporting herself home . She checks Savings and sorts away today's saved spells ' I have a few basic attack spells like fireball ' she still can't get her mind off of making extra magic sources .
She recalls what Willow said about Magic sources needing fuel from the original source ' From the materials I've gathered , an important aspect of the magic source is the circuit or magic formation and the supply from the main source ' she recalls how splitting a magic source requires drawing a very complex structure that basically unifies an entire magic type with the magic source as the ink .
' But what if I don't draw and just stack them all together ? ' Dennis recalls how some artificial magic devices were made to cast one spell and gathers all the basic fireball spells that she had been casting . The instructions for building a magic source were simply like building a stamp that doesn't need an ink pad for stamping .
The Saved fireball spells were basically like stickers that can only be used once ' Yes , that's a good logic , a magic source is basically just like a stamp . I only need it for quick casting . It's a little dumb to make a magic source for fireball , but I'm making one just in case '
She starts grabbing all the stacks and starts to compress them ' It's not as simple as compressing all these stacks together . I also need something to hold them together without ruining the integrity of the resulting spell ' she didn't really feel like making more complex steps because this was a magic source for one basic spell .
So she settled with simply compressing the stacks " Huh , it seems stable enough " she saw impurities and got them off , replacing the lost mana with mana from her source and Saved a bunch of fireball spells by casting from the new magic source , but it didn't seem to degrade working well as a magic source ' Alright , let's do the same with a few others '
She continues to compress and stabilise the spells until she gets some data ' So this one turn into a source because it doesn't have enough ' the stacks of spells disperse from each other , thankfully not wasted and she looks at the magic sources that were surrounding the main one .
She hears a doorbell and sees Willow with some food outside " That place was really packed . I can see why you told me to do it and did you figure out how to hide your magic ? " " Yep , hopefully that source taker doesn't take my sources "
" Won't matter what you think , a thief will always steal when they see wealth from another " " then what about this ? " Saver lifts the cloak over the magic and Willow puts on some magically enhanced glasses .
" Oh , now that's a beautifully made magic source . But all I see are some basic attack magic " " They're the spells I learned from our much older trades with each other " Dennis said " the magic sources are stable , but are you sure about making these small ones ? It means wasting years of growth and wait , there is something I don't know right ? "
Dennis nodded " The material I use is all the spells I Saved over the years . Some require more to make it , but since it's such a weird number , not like 500 Saved spells equals one magic source . I think the amount of Saved spells I need stored for a magic source for one specific spell varies " " Usually , crafting a magic source requires building a complex structure to cast magic from one group , but you're building magic sources for one spell "
" It's not that restrictive , I can use them like stamps if I want to make complex spells " " But it's restrictive for other spells that don't have other spells as components " " Then , if I want to construct a spell , how about I just make a magic source for runes " Willow wanted to add to that theory , but it was so new and not exactly like the usual ways of crafting a magic source .
" Wait , your method could actually be more effective in terms of flexibility . But the cost and storage " " Can handle it , I have a massive pool and I am constantly squeezing it out and recovering it quickly "
" Forget the pool , it feels like you can just grow your pool by smashing everything and from the numbers you showed , it doesn't even look like you are losing mana to gain mana, but you just set aside spells with mana used and keeping that mana "

The only hassle is compressing the saved spells to form sources , but you clearly have that figured out " " good good good " " but what happens when all these sources are more than your main magic source ? Willow looks at Dennis and asks " Did you ever make your pool fill up ? " " Yep , always have it almost full before wasting it and Saving the spells " " Good , that means your body is used to it , but try not to absorb these new magic sources you have too quickly . For now , leave it in your Gift's space "
Dennis figured out what Willow was worried about " So the problem is that , my body can't handle the bigger pool ? " " Your body can't even handle the stored spells they would've been activated if it weren't for your gift , so before you decide to absorb your magic source or Load it to someone else , think whether the body can handle it "
" I guess the same logic applies to my other savings " ' You sure are amazing Saver ' Dennis thinks of adapting her body to carry the sources " I do understand why you want to carry it in your body , since you worry about losing your gift " Dennis sets an unorthodox plan " Then my best bet would be to go to the world of knights to train my body "
" Tell me why you are going to the world of knights ? That place is kinda like your world in the sense that they don't accept other worlds' advancement unless it is somewhat connected to their culture of weapons training and if it was better to keep it around , like the very popular power inhibitors "
" I just need a much better training facility so I can absorb the mana sources slowly , I've done a lot of exercise for a healthy body , so I want to be able to train my fighting techniques " " Even punching and kicking ? "
" Especially those " " You really have to slow down . At first , I thought it would be a basic college life I would have with you with the added excitement of some fights here and then , but you are even planning to go to other places to train ? What about your time ? "
" I got plenty , plus I'll have to go there to ask for permission to teleport and it will be fun going out of my world this often " " But the teleport you have is usually limited in one world . The one that passes through worlds costs more mana and is a more complex technique . Don't tell me you already studied that ? "

" It's fine , I'll just turn on the steam " " Doesn't this also mean you are wasting your own time ? " Willow asked " Are you trying to make me mad so I can take action ? " " Yeah , who knows what kind of perverts are watching ? " Willow said with much attitude towards the tower masters .
" Then you can give me a book for that spell you used " " I'll do it myself " Willow took the liberty to teach Dennis all about the privacy bubble spell and Dennis manifested a bubble around herself as her figure became more vague , like looking through a fog .
" You're not kidding about being a fast learner " " Yep , at the rate I'm going , I might be able to get more books . " Dennis said while Loading her mother's gift to find that the surveillance still continues .
" I guess I should keep this privacy bubble constant " ' Saver do you think you can lengthen the duration ? ' Saver signed " ? "
' It's the same thing that we need to save from the saved spells which is the mana dispersion that spells without support experience . We can use it to offensively attack other magic attacks in the future , so while you prevent the mana from dispersing , I'll figure out ways to keep it steady '
Dennis has an idea about the use of a magic source to create a more permanent privacy bubble " Do you think I can make a magic source for a privacy bubble ? "
Willow looks at Dennis casting the privacy bubble spell and slowly expanding it " Yes , but no one really wants to have one and moving ... Oh , your gift ... I'm going to get you some payment , hopefully the elves already have some volunteer . "
" Is your sister one of them ? " Dennis asked " How'd you know , some of the freed slaves when they meet me , thank me for letting them get some agency and good jobs by letting them pay their debt faster with the strange jobs I give them "

" Sure , how long do we want this thing active ? " " As long as possible " ... Dennis goes to bed and starts reading the books while Loading dream time .
Meanwhile , Saver latched onto her dream body ' They sure love me a lot ' Dennis thought , but wonders if this act was copied by seeing someone do it to show love .

' This is fine , it's definitely better than having no protection at all and having to rely entirely on myself ' Dennis thinks about her plan to visit the world of knights for refining her fighting techniques and adapting her body .
' It's definitely going to be much different from the towers and I don't think bringing a weapon around is a good look in society . So I should just go to wherever they train your body for punching and kicking . Afterall it does suit my initial goal '
Saver sensed the thought asking about the black hole " Oh you're right , if I want to train to kick and punch , we should Save them " Saver's tendrils did a little dance .
' But I'm wondering if they will accept me , I have been training quite hard already , but as far as I can tell , throwing punches and kicks are things I haven't done at all '
Dennis puts that worry aside for tomorrow .
