Meera forced a small smile.

“I made dinner…”

“I’ve already eaten,” he said, walking past her.

That one sentence broke something inside her.

Meera stood by the balcony, tears quietly slipping down her face.

Behind her, Arjun sat with his laptop, completely absorbed in work.

She turned.

“Arjun… can we talk?”

He didn’t look up.

“I’m busy, Meera. Tomorrow.”

“You always say that.”

Now he looked up.

“And I mean it every time,” he said, not harsh—but distant.

She laughed softly, painfully.

“Do you even realize… we’re married?”

“Of course I do.”

“Then why does it feel like I live with a stranger?”

That question hung in the air.

For a moment… Arjun had no answer.

But instead of speaking… he closed his laptop.

“We’ll talk later. You’re overthinking.”
