Room 308...
"Looks like they're all gone." Yang Bin gazed out the window.
"Yeah, seems like it. Probably just us left in the whole building now." Chen Hao said.
"Wake Wenliang up. We're hitting the other rooms."
"......"
"Bin-ge, so the real reason you wanted to stay an extra day was for this?"
"Of course not. Mainly because the beds are more comfortable." Yang Bin grinned.
"Besides, after the zombies cleared out, those guys probably already picked the nearby rooms clean. We won't find much."
"But this time we're not after food. We need daily essentials-clothes, power banks, lighters, that kind of thing."
"Got it."
Chen Hao nodded, then went to shake Hu Wenliang awake. The three of them shoved the bed barricade aside and stepped out.
The dorm building was almost completely clear of zombies now. The broadcast was still blaring-some high-energy pop track-exactly the kind of thing that drew zombies like moths to a flame.
It wouldn't last much longer, though. Sooner or later those speakers would get torn apart, and then the zombies would scatter and wander freely.
The three swept through room by room, running into the occasional straggler. Nothing they couldn't handle.
Two hours later, they'd cleared floors one through six.
Just as Yang Bin predicted-barely any food left, but they filled an entire backpack with daily supplies.
"Let's go. Drop this stuff off, then we head out." Yang Bin said.
"Where to?" Chen Hao and Hu Wenliang asked in unison, curiosity written across their faces.
"Hunting Special Zombies."
Chen Hao's eyes lit up instantly. Hu Wenliang just looked lost.
But he didn't ask questions. He just followed.
After stashing their haul, Yang Bin grabbed an iron pipe for Hu Wenliang, and the three headed out.
Everyone else on campus was hiding from zombies. These three were actively seeking them out. Truly a different breed.
But this was something only they could pull off. Even if other survivors knew Special Zombies had crystals in their skulls, finding one would be nearly impossible.
Special Zombies looked identical to ordinary ones on the outside. No visible difference whatsoever-just stronger.
And you couldn't exactly test every zombie's strength one by one.
This was where Yang Bin held an absolute edge. With the True Vision Eye active, even a Special Zombie buried deep in a horde couldn't escape his sight.
Shortly after leaving the building, they spotted a cluster of zombies crowded around a speaker, swaying mindlessly to the music.
Yang Bin scanned them, shook his head, and kept moving.
They walked for a long stretch, passing over a dozen groups of zombies. No Special Zombies among them.
Fortunately, the True Vision Eye let Yang Bin detect threats well in advance. They skirted around every group, keeping their risk to a minimum.
In all that time, only a handful of zombies were unavoidable-and Chen Hao and Hu Wenliang dispatched those without breaking stride.
Finally, as they passed a dense grove of trees, Yang Bin stopped dead. A spark of excitement flashed in his eyes.
"Found one?" Chen Hao asked eagerly.
"Yeah. But it's a bit... not safe for work." Yang Bin smirked.
"What do you mean?"
"Secluded grove. Man and woman. Use your imagination."
"Holy shit, people were that bold?" Hu Wenliang's eyes went wide.
"Don't act so shocked. Back in the day, me and Shiya-"
"Stop. Don't start with your glory days again. Your Shiya's already with someone else." Yang Bin cut him off without mercy.
"......"
"Two zombies. The female is a Special Zombie, the male is ordinary. I'll take the female, you take the male. Liangzi, stay behind us. Fast and clean-don't attract company." Yang Bin's voice went hard.
"Got it!"
"Move."
They slipped into the grove. The foliage was thick enough that you couldn't see a thing from outside. No wonder those two had been so brazen. Without the True Vision Eye, Yang Bin never would have spotted them.
Once inside, they found the targets quickly. But when Chen Hao and Hu Wenliang saw the state of the two zombies, their eyes went wide.
"Holy shit, you weren't kidding about not safe for work." Chen Hao breathed.
"Did they undergo Corpse Transformation mid-act?" Hu Wenliang stared.
"Honestly? Probably."
"Enough talk-they're coming!"
The two zombies had zero sense of shame. The moment they spotted living humans, they lunged forward with hungry excitement.
Except their pants were bunched around their ankles-not fully removed. Two steps in, both zombies face-planted into the dirt.
"......"
All three of them stared, a bead of sweat rolling down their temples.
"So that's why the broadcast didn't lure them away." Chen Hao let out a long breath. "They literally couldn't run."
The two zombies scrambled up, took another couple of steps, and crashed down again.
The female zombie's top was hiked up past her chest, everything exposed. Every time she fell, her breasts slapped flat against the ground.
"That's... not gonna break anything, right?" Hu Wenliang said.
"Nah. They're soft." Chen Hao replied with the confidence of a man who'd done research.
"......"
"Alright, enough commentary. Finish them before we get visitors." Yang Bin said.
"On it."
Both struck at once, driving their pipes straight at the zombies' skulls.
After all the fights they'd been through, this was by far the easiest.
Chen Hao dropped the male with a single thrust. The female took Yang Bin seven or eight stabs before she finally stopped moving.
Special Zombie bodies were significantly tougher than ordinary ones.
And Yang Bin noticed something else-this one felt even harder to kill than the two Special Zombies he'd taken down yesterday.
"A woman's body shouldn't be stronger than a man's. Unless... zombies actually keep getting stronger." Yang Bin's jaw tightened.
That realization sent a cold thread of urgency through his chest.
"Ah, what a waste." Hu Wenliang sighed, looking down at the female zombie on the ground.
"If you want to lose your virginity, now's your chance. Still warm." Yang Bin said flatly.
"Ugh-I'm not that depraved! And I've told you a hundred times, I'm not a virgin!" Hu Wenliang sputtered.
"You also told us you've never even held a girl's hand. If you're not a virgin, who is?"
"......"
Yang Bin reached into the zombie's cracked skull and fished around. A moment later, he pulled out a small red crystal.
"This is the Energy Crystal you guys mentioned?" Hu Wenliang leaned in, eyes wide with curiosity.
"Yeah. Here-eat it." Yang Bin tossed it to him.
"Wait, for me?" Hu Wenliang blinked.
"Who else? Out of the three of us, you're the weakest. You planning to stay deadweight forever?"
"...Alright."
Hu Wenliang understood what this crystal meant. He said nothing more-just shot a grateful look at both of them, wiped the crystal clean, squeezed his eyes shut, and swallowed it down.
A short while later, three newly strengthened hunters set off again, continuing their search for Special Zombies.
