After the meeting with principal Agnus, Anas realized he had to become even more powerful if he wanted to protect Rai, so he secretly trained without telling Karasu and Nex.
"Why do you suddenly want to train? It's not like you are weak," Amelia told him.
"For someone average! I have to become stronger, I just have to," Anas told her. And so Amelia and Al trained Anas to be stronger. Amelia was mainly training his battle intelligence while Al helped him develop new techniques.
"Master Anas, in order to get stronger, you need to make new attacks. Your falling chunks, buckshots and lances are fine, but in a close range battle, you will easily get beaten up," Al said to Anas.
"How about you make an attack that can cover for you, like my tree vines which can be used in close range to block and hit my opponents, similar to your friend Nex and his bone arms," Al continued.
Anas tried a few things, but all had a very exploitable weakness and were not good for a battle.
"How about you try to form something that can be easily controlled?" Al suggested, Anas thought about it and then formed three sapphire sharks.
"That's it master Anas, the sharks can be used for defense by body blocking, and offense by biting your opponents," Al congratulated Anas on his new attack.
"However, that won't be enough, you still need an attack that allows you to control the battlefield, your chunks of sapphire from the sky is a start, but it's not too efficient," Al explained.
"Try something like my swarm of tree trunks, it allows me to force my opponent to either dodge it or destroy it. And if they try to jump on it, I can force the trees to make only one possible path for them and I can easily predict their next move," Al continued.
Anas thought of different attacks and decided on one, he formed sapphire underground and shot them up like spikes. "Great job master, this attack can definitely help you with large groups of Cruels," Al said to Anas.
From her room's window, Rai saw just how hard Anas was training just for her.
"I wonder if he will love me in the future, because I think I have a little crush on him now," Rai mumbled to herself, the thought of her marrying Anas made Rai turn bright red, but she decided to hide her feelings for now.
After three months, the school year started, Anas spent those three months perfecting his new attacks and learning how to fight in an one on one situation. To his surprise, Karasu and Nex also trained together in training rooms when they had access to them. All three of them don't want to lose Rai since she became their new friend and they will do everything they can to protect her.
"Alright, so here is our plan, when we spot the eighth, crow will fight it in close range while I and Nex provide support. When crow is too tired to fight, Nex and him will sweep roles and the cycle continues. If either of you are too tired, then I will fight it in close range even though I am still not used to it," Anas explained.
"This will surely be enough. We will destroy that bitch once and for all!" Karasu said with confidence.
"YEAH! And I will twist its body till I can crumble it into a ball," Nex said. The bell rang and the trio along with Mr Blaze picked Rai up, they were ready to not let anyone take her away, even from other teachers who might need her.
"Why are you all doing this for me? I didn't do anything to you guys," Rai said with teary eyes.
"Because you are my friend," the trio said in unison. Then suddenly, a gate opened in the courtyard, all of the students ran away, the teachers and guards ran to the scene. The trio and Mr Blaze were ready to fight whoever shows up.
Then, thousands of Cruels came out and the main threats too, twenty fingers came out and the eighth to tenth fingers also showed up. The guards engaged with the random Cruels while the teachers fought the fingers, the eighth and ninth focused on capturing Rai. After they spotted her, they quickly fought the group, the ninth dealt with Mr Blaze while the eighth finger fought the trio.
Karasu immediately slashed his scythe while Anas and Nex provided support with Anas's buckshot and Nex's skulls, but this time, the eighth finger was way faster than before and its stone pillars pierced through Karasu's armor and knocked him out cold. Nex was furious and he summoned a fury of arms at it, but it dodged with little to no effort, and he was also injured from a slash by it's stone battle axe.
"Hahaha! Training 15 hours a day for 3 months straight to grow stronger was the best decision of my life!" the eighth said, trying to mock the trio's efforts.
Anas was the only one left, he calmed himself and he created his sharks while also summoning sapphire underground. When the eighth tried to get close, sapphire spikes came out and the sharks bit it while it was distracted.
Though it kept moving forward and he made a stone club and batted at Anas's head. Now the trio was all defeated and the eighth tried to take Rai away, when suddenly, small sapphire fragments formed on the ground, the area had a blue glow to it, Anas chanted "Megalodon!", and a sapphire megalodon came out from the ground, it bit the finger as it swam up in the air and exploded in a blue light.
