In the sleepy village of Fenware a select group of people called Climbers risk their lives scaling mountains in order to cultivate and harvest the mysterious red flower that grows there. With the monstrous storms, territorial wyverns and treacherous cliffs, death is an old friend.

Wren Dumare has always been drawn to the mountains – it’s in her blood and no one is faster, or better, on the cliffs than her.

High in the mountains the ruins of a dead empire – the Empire of Dragons – hold more than just bones and relics of the past. A lone dragon lurks, grieving for a past he cannot escape and a curse that has him bound.

Now war has found Wren’s village and to save everyone she loves she’ll have to make a deal with a demon – literally.
