Looking behind her, he nods to his friends. Soft music begins to play. She looks around, searching for the source.
“My beloved, I want to tell you today how much I love you. You mean the world to me.”
He shakes his head and looks down muttering to himself, “I can do better than that.”
She takes his hand and places her hand under his chin, gently pulling his face up. “I would love to hear more.”
“I would be honored if you would consider becoming my wife.” He opens a small jewelry box.
She gasps and nods in agreement.
He places the ring on her finger, a small delicate ring for a small delicate woman.
“We can get married in October…”
She frowns.
“September,” he tries again.
A smile rewards him.
“Then I will take you to Hawaii for the honeymoon”
Another frown.
“Europe,” he tries.
A slight smile.
“France. Paris.”
He sighs in relieve, when her face blooms in the most beautiful smile.
Rising, he holds his hand out, “May I have this dance?”
She nods. The music changes and he takes her body in his arms, pulling her closer.
They sway to the romantic music and with the pull of a cord, petals shower down on them.
He glances to his friends. They give him a thumbs up as they sneak away, leaving him alone with the love of his life.
