風擺塵染筆架時，院飛紅凋地。

紅麟燃燠旁鳳尾，傳秦柱、聽成悝。

淚望行字紙留纏，是愁情鋪起。

(解釋)

以常州詞派意內言外的方式寫秦朝的文化政策。

第1句：以砌路千里象徵修馳道。

第2句：以點點的星象徵統一貨幣成圓形方孔的半兩錢。

第3句：以塵染筆架喻坑儒一事。

第4句：以花落喻人怨。

第5句：以紅爐燃紙喻焚書。

第6句：以秦柱聲傳喻秦詔令之嚴。

第7句：以行字紙喻統一文字一事。

*紅麟：即紅色的暖爐，鳳尾：即鳳尾箋。
