The year is 1947 in Brooklyn, and PI Ray Allison is on the case when he is hired by Gwen Sanford to look into the death of a high profile millionaire and weapon manufacturer with shady connections, her father, Stephen Sanford, who suddenly died in a bizarre car crash which is quickly written off as a suicide. The case will prove to be anything but straightforward however. A dearth of direct evidence and a parade of suspects with possible reasons to kill promises to complicate Allison’s investigation. Furthermore, his involvement with Gwen and the alluring stranger, Vera Walters, may just prove his undoing…
