They all left the Beavers dam and ran up to the top of a snowy hill, where they could see a view of the White Witches castle perfectly. Everyone stopped in their tracks and they could see the large, icy doors swing open and you could just make out a tiny silhouette of someone (which was probably Edmund) walking in and the doors closed behind them.
"Edmund!" Lucy shouted
"Shhh, they'll hear ya!" Mr Beaver quietly shouted back. Lucy looked terrified for her brother, Mr Tumnus probably filled her in on everything about the Witch Witch.
Y/n's mind:
'I wonder if she knows, Mr Tumnus wouldn't thought right? I mean I asked him to keep the secret until the day he dies. He swore. No I'm being silly he wouldn't .'
Peter looked at Y/n with worry in his eyes. Y/n didn't know what to say or do to make any of this better. Peter started to run towards the castle but Mr Beaver stepped in and grabbed the sleeve of his fur coat.
"Get off me!" He demands, Y/n ran towards Peter and stepped in front of his pushing his chest back.
"You can't" Y/n whispered to him, this only made him more angry.
"We can't just let him go!" Peter's expression started to go from angry to upset. Y/n wanted to comfort him in someway but she didn't know how. It killed her not letting him go to his brother but she knew it was the right thing to do. Peter still tried to get past but Mr Beaver and Y/n held strongly onto him, until Mr Beaver finally spoke up.
"Don't you get it? He's the bait! She wants all of you!" Peter paused and looked straight at Mr Beaver.
"Why does she want all of us?" Peter got more angry again. Mr Beaver couldn't bring himself to say the words he just looked straight at the Princess with sadness overtaking his body. Peter did the same, Y/n knew no one else was gonna say it. So she had to.
"To kill you" Y/n stuttered looking straight into Peter eyes, his face dropped, tears formed in his eyes. She wanted to hug him and never let him go but her body was stopping her. As if a way to say. 'Stop getting so attached'.
Lucy started to cry and Susan held her with tears running down her face.
"This is all your fault! None of this would have happened if you had just listened to me in the first place!" Susan shouted. Peter snapped round to look at Susan. Y/n just stood there, there wasn't anything she could say to make it any better. This was to do with the children, she had no right getting involved.
"So you knew this was gonna happen?" Peter asked
"I didn't know what would happen, that's why we should've left!"
"Stop! This fighting isn't going to help Edmund!" Lucy shouted, she was right.
"Only Aslan can save him now" Mr Beaver said looking towards the castle, not bringing himself to make eye contact with anyone. Especially Peter.
"Take us to him" Peter demanded and Mr Beaver nodded and turned round. The children followed him, in hopes of getting their brother back. Y/n stayed for a moment and just looked at the castle. Memories were flashing back and forth in her mind.
"Keep an eye on him for me" Y/n whispered and the leaves circled around her and formed a silhouette of a man, he nodded and bowed to the Princess then flew towards the castle.
"Princess!" Y/n turned around, it was Mrs Beaver. Y/n blew a kiss towards the castle and followed Mrs Beaver back into the snowy forest.
Y/n was walking far behind the others, everyone seemed so quiet. No one really knew what to say. Peter waited for Y/n and started to walk beside her. She was happy he was here but no words could express how sorry she was.
"Are you okay?" He asked, even through this tough time with his own brother he was still making sure everyone else was okay.
"I should be asking you that" Y/n replied not letting herself look at him.
"You seem more distraught than me and he's my own brother"
"I'm just worried about him, the White Witch was never a kind person" This made Peter more upset.
"I'm sorry, that was inconsiderate of me to say. Aslan will save him" She smiled at Peter, a fake smile that he saw right through.
"It's okay really. I know you're trying to help" Y/n took a deep breath and carried on walking. Peter just couldn't stop staring at her, he felt at peace with her. Even through this time when he was so worried about his brother Y/n seemed to calm him with one look. As Peter was about to say something we heard a howl from behind them. They looked at each other and started to run.
When we got back to the beavers dam Mr Beaver burst the door open we all ran inside and Mrs Beaver started frantically running around the house picking up everything she could.
"What is she doing?" Susan asked, seeming genuinely concerned.
"Don't worry! You'll thank me later. It's a long journey and a beaver gets cranky when he's hungry!" Mrs Beaver shouted still running round the house.
"I'M CRANKY NOW!" Mr Beaver shouted, Y/n couldn't help but laugh. She ran over to the tunnel and instructed everyone to go in. Mr and Mrs Beaver did so and then Lucy.
"Shouldn't we bring Jam?" Susan asked.
"Only if the Witch serves toast!" He shouted back, letting out a little laugh. The sticks of the dam started to break as the wolves were getting closer and closer inside.
"Peter!" Y/n shouted pointing towards the tunnel.
"Right sorry" He led Susan inside the tunnel and tried to let Y/n go before him.
"Just go, I'll be right behind" Y/n demanded, Peter ran inside the tunnel and Y/n took one last quick look at the place before running inside. Peter looked behind him to make sure she was still behind. It made her smile.
"This should lead to Aslan's " Mr Beaver said quietly.
"You told me it led to your mum's" Mrs Beaver replied. I laughed, the Beavers never change. We could now hear the wolves howling coming closer and closer.
"There in the tunnel!" Lucy shouted. They all started to run faster until they reached a dead end. Y/n held Peter's arm and he pulled her closer. Mr Beaver was now growing more anxious and so was Mrs Beaver.
"You should've brought a map!" Mrs Beaver shouted hitting him in the arm.
"There was no room next to the Jam!" He snapped back. Mr Beaver found another way out and everyone followed him. Y/n and Peter grabbed each others hands and held it tightly.
Everyone jumped out the hole and Peter helped Y/n out. They looked at each other for a moment, while Mr Beaver closed the door behind them. Their moment was interrupted by Lucy scream as she tripped over. She backed away and saw a group of animals turned to stone. Y/n gasped, her friends were all, stone. Y/n and the beavers stepped closer to badger, a close friend of theirs who Y/n loved dearly. She knelt down next to Mr Beaver.
"He was my best mate" He cried. Y/n wiped the snow off of Beaver and a tear shed from her eye.
"What happened to them?" Susan asked
A deep, distant voice could be heard from afar "This is what happens to traitors of the White Witch" It was Fox. At least he was okay.
"Stand still traitor" Mr Beaver stepped towards him but Mrs Beaver held him back and Y/n got up to go back to Peter once more, she held onto his arm and wiped the tears off her face.
"Relax, I'm one of the good guys" Fox said calmly.
"Well you look mighty like one of the bad guys" Mr Beaver kept trying to get out his wife's grasp.
"Beaver!" Y/n shouted, he turned to look at her and she just nodded her head. He understood and calmed down.
"Princess!" Fox exclaimed.
"How very nice to see you again" He bowed and I smiled.
"I'm just glad you're okay" Y/n scratched him on the head.
"What happened here?" Lucy asked stepping closer to Fox. He looked up at her and realised who they were.
"An unfortunate family resemblance, but we can discuss family breeding later. Right now we gotta move" Fox instructed.
"What do you suggest?" Peter asked. Fox smirked and led everyone to a tree. Everyone knew exactly what to do and started climbing. Everyone except Y/n.
"Come on Princess you'll be fine" Mr Beaver shouted from the top of the tree.
"Are you scared of heights?" Lucy asked surprised.
"Even a Princess has fears, Lucy" I stuttered. Peter held out his hand towards me, Y/n looked at his hand and hesitated.
"I won't drop you" He said, he looked serious. Y/n grabbed his hand and he pulled her up. Peter sat her onto the branch and she was shaking. Peter wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly.
"I've got you" He whispers into her ear. This comforted her and she calmed.
The wolves appeared and stepped closer to Fox.
"Evening gents, did we lose something?" Fox smirked
"Don't patronize me, I know where your allegiance lies. We are looking for some humans" One wolf replied.
"Humans in Narnia, now that's some valuable information" This made the wolves angry and one jumped forward and bite the Fox picking him off the floor. Lucy was about the scream when Susan covered her mouth. I winced and held Peters hand tightly.
"WHERE ARE THEY!" A wolf shouted. Fox looked around in despair, there was silence. Was he really going to tell them?
"They, they-" Fox paused
"They went North" He hung his head in shame and Y/n was relieved.
"Smell them out boys" A wolf demanded, they threw him aside and Fox winced in pain. Within seconds the wolves disappeared and the everyone jumped down. Y/n ran towards Fox to help him.
"We need to find somewhere to sleep for tonight" Y/n demanded.
Mrs Beaver was patching Fox up while everyone else was sitting by a campfire.
"Are you all right?" Lucy asked
"Well I wish I could say their bark was worse than their bite" Fox chuckled and winced in pain.
"Stop squirming, you're worse than Beaver on bath day!" Mrs Beaver demanded.
"Worst day of the year" Mr Beaver said. Everyone laughed. Y/n noticed Peter looking at her smiling. She blushed and rolled her eyes.
"Well I'm afraid that's all the healing I have time for" Fox said standing up slowly.
"Your leaving?" Susan asked
"It has been a pleasure, my Queen. But Aslan himself has asked me to gather more troops." Fox bowed to Susan and she looked confused as Fox was leaving he turned to me.
"Aslan thanks you Princess and says you've done well" Fox once again bowed to me and ran out of the cave into the forest. Y/n couldn't help but smile, she missed him so very much.
"Aslan will be great help fighting the Witch" Mr Beaver said to the children.
"Sorry, but were not fighting any Witch" Susan said.
"But.. King Peter" Mr Beaver turned to him along with Mrs Beaver and Y/n. Peter looked at all of them and looked down as if he was ashamed what he was about to say.
"We just want our brother back" Peter said. It became silent.
"I think it's time everyone gets some sleep" Y/n instructs. All the children laid down and the Beavers took one look at the Princess, she nodded her head and they huddled together and fell to sleep.
"Y/n..." Peter said giving her the puppy dog eyes she weak too. Y/n took a deep breath and smiled at him.
"It's okay Peter, get some sleep" she laid down and turned around so he couldn't see the tear fall down her cheek. She'd been waiting for this moment for 100 years and all they wanted was to go home. It reminded her that no matter what happens her and Peter are from 2 different worlds.
Worlds that can't mix.
