Leveret hurried down the lengthy stone hallway after Virelai, his crown sliding down his left temple.
“Virelai! Virelai!”
He called hastily, stumbling over his feet and almost stepping on his sister’s skirt.
Virelai sighed and turned around.
“Yes, Leveret?”
She replied, her tone drawn out and soft.
He tilted his head up slightly to look at her, lowering his voice to match hers.
“Do you really want to marry him?”
Virelai scoffed, her eyes flicking up into the top right corner and then back to her brother.
“Of course!”
“But you barely even know him.”35Please respect copyright.PENANAdI5a3IZFMt
“So?”
“So you could not possibly love him!”
Leveret whispered, gesturing vaguely.
Virelai chuckled.
“Oh Leveret…”
Leveret stomped his foot.
“Yes?!”
He huffed.
“You are just a child-”35Please respect copyright.PENANAIIGjaTu2is
She hummed, patting him swiftly on the head.
“I am most certainly not!”
Leveret interrupted.
“-and do not understand politics.”
She finished, ignoring his protests.
She sighed, rolling back her shoulders.
“Besides, Mother and Father have already planned the wedding.”35Please respect copyright.PENANAWr3UQZSr3z
Leveret tapped his foot for a moment, looking down at the floor.
“When will it be?”
He inquired, cocking his head to the side as he glanced back up at her.
“Next week.”35Please respect copyright.PENANAqhw7MqFVgm
